Blossom Drop — Accessibility
Last updated: 9 September 2026 · Applies to Blossom Drop for iOS, version 1.0 and later.
Blossom Drop is a single-player drop-and-merge puzzle game for iPhone, made by Effie Friend. This page says what the game does for players who use iOS accessibility features, and what it does not do yet, so you can decide before installing.
The short version
- VoiceOver reads every screen and every control, including the board during a run.
- Larger Text is supported through the largest accessibility sizes.
- Reduced Motion is honoured from your iPhone's setting, and there is a switch in the game's own Settings as well.
- Text and controls are checked for sufficient contrast on every theme before a release.
- There are no timers and no move limits. Nothing in the game is time-pressured, and a run can be paused at any point.
- The game is played in portrait with one thumb. Sound and haptics are optional and can be turned off.
VoiceOver
Every control in the game has a label, and the labels are the same words a sighted player reads on screen rather than a rewritten description. During a run, VoiceOver reads the score, the flower you are holding and the flower coming next, and the state of the board: how full the jar is, whether the flower you are holding has a match on the board, and the outcome of each merge. Results, the shop, the Daily Bouquet, the Pressing Book and Settings are all navigable with VoiceOver.
Dropping a flower is a single tap on the jar. There is no drag that has to be completed with precision; where the flower lands is chosen by where you tap.
Larger Text
All text scales with the iPhone's Dynamic Type setting, including the accessibility sizes. At the largest sizes, rows that would not fit side by side stack instead, and nothing is cut off or hidden behind another control.
Reduced Motion
With Reduce Motion on in iOS, or with the game's own Reduced Motion switch on, screen shake, particle bursts and pop animations are damped or removed. The rules of the game do not change; only the presentation does.
Colour
Colour is part of how Blossom Drop plays: merging two flowers whose colours are close pays a bonus. That information is never carried by colour alone. How close a match is appears as a percentage and as marks on the ring around the flower you are holding, and VoiceOver reads the same figure aloud. The flower ladder is told apart by shape and name as well as colour.
What is not supported yet
- Voice Control has not been tested. Standard controls should respond to it, but we have not verified the full game, so we do not claim it.
- Dark interface: the game's themes include dark ones, but it does not follow the system Dark Mode setting.
If either of these matters to you, tell us. They are the two most likely next additions.
